I had no clue what to cook for dinner. I knew it had to use chicken, not use the oven and have a short cooking time. After all, I'm in Texas and the average temperature for the week is 103. As I was driving down the highway from my commute from Temple to Georgetown, it dawned on me. I want Asian food. Who doesn't love Asian food? I have always wanted to try the Panda Express bottled sauces. I figured, why not now?
I always do my chopping and prep work before hand. If you cook long enough, you realize that things go a lot smoother in the kitchen when you have everything measured and ready to go. The only problem was, I had no recipe to go off of. I literally looked at the picture on the bottle and bought the ingredients I saw. I won't go too much into detail with the recipe as this is not the purpose of this review.
The sauce: It isn't identical to what you will taste in the restaurant, but it is pretty darn close. Did I mention it is simple? For the ingredients listed here, I used about half a bottle of sauce. It isn't as spicy as what you will eat in the restaurant. It really is the basic sauce. When I worked at Panda Express, I noticed the cook added red pepper flake. I did this when I cooked it and it had the bite like in the restaurant. It has good flavor, good consistency and reheats really well. Casey and I enjoyed it a lot and will be purchasing it again.
